At a recent awards evening for the West Midlands Police, the Lead Chaplain, John Butcher, and his team of police chaplains received the prestigious “Diamond Award”. This was for “Welfare at Work” and the following words were used to introduce them:

"The WMP Force’s Chaplaincy Team offers a vital support service to individuals and groups across the organisation. Revd John Butcher oversees over forty chaplains who provide more than four thousand voluntary working hours a year. The multi-faith team is committed to working together to provide pastoral and spiritual care, as well as support and guidance to anyone who needs it across the police family. The chaplains' varied duties include leading at force services, such as funerals and blessings, attending and supporting award evenings, and training events, as well as talking to colleagues following critical incidents or difficult personal circumstances. The chaplains also perform a vital role in developing multi-faith links between the police and the community."
“Thanks for being so quick to attend when we asked for help!”
